Young's Dairy

We spent some time at Young's Dairy in Yellow Springs today. They had a special carnival and, for the first time, Georgia enjoyed the rides, especially the slide and ladybug. And, of course, we enjoyed the goats, cows and delicious ice cream.

Bunnies!

A family of rabbits has moved in somewhere around our house.

Class Picnic

Yesterday Georgia and I attended her class picnic at a nearby park. The park, new to us, was wonderful but a complete mudpit! The kids were a mess! I'm honestly not sure if her shoes will recover.

We are looking forward to a fun summer exploring our new home. Have a great holiday weekend!

End of the school year

Yesterday was Georgia's last day of school. Tomorrow/Thursday morning, we will meet her classmates and teacher for the class picnic. Last night, we worked on a gift for Georgia's teacher, Mrs. Black. The idea was not mine - I saw it on the Family Fun website. Georgia's handprints made a heart and Brian wrote the lyrics to a song the children sing called Love Grows.

King of the Grill

Brian cooked for the first time on the grill we received for Christmas last year. Tasty! We had a great afternoon with his parents/Granddad and Nana. After they left for home, I asked Georgia what her favorite part of the day was. She answered, "Having lunch with Granddad and Nana." That answer, after receiveing and watching the Alvin & the Chipmunks dvd, seemed pretty sweet.

Spring Program

Last night, Tante came up to join us for Georgia's preschool spring program. Twenty or so minutes of entertainment provided by 24 four year olds. It was a fun night and Georgia took it quite seriously. We were proud of how well she stayed focused on the performance amidst a tiny bit of chaos. She practiced her curtsy before the concert and was the only child to do it. After every song and with a very serious expression.

After the program, all of the children received certificates of completion. Then they handed out 2 perfect attendance awards, one of which went to Georgia. She exclaimed, "We won!" Afterward, we went to get ice cream to celebrate her night.

Thanks to Tante for making the drive to share the evening (and her photos) with us!

Happy Mother's Day!!

Sunday was a great day for us. Brian and Georgia made delicious raspberry buttermilk pancakes and served them to me in bed. We had lunch later and went to the mall so I could use my Mother's Day Williams-Sonoma gift card.

Brian's parents will be coming on Sunday to celebrate Mother's Day since his mother was on call over the weekend. We will try our hand at grilling for the first time, thanks to Tante and Tony's fab Chistmas gift!

Saturday

Saturday was a busy day for us. Busy but very fun. We met Grandma, Grandpa, Tante and Tony for lunch to celebrate Mother's Day. After lunch, we went to the Krohn Conservatory and enjoyed the butterfly exhibit. Georgia was able "catch" a butterfly by using an orange slice.

Later in the afternoon, we went to a park in KY to enjoy a going-away party for the Burgoons as they prepare to move to Chicago this summer. No photos from that time, but it was lots of fun!
